Agate

Agate is a variety of quartz characterized by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. This stone can be found in various minerals; however it is classically associated to originate in volcanic and metamorphic rocks.  Agate comes in a variety of colors including white, grey, light blue, orange, yellow, red, and black. Sometime during the 4th century BC, it was discovered along the shore line of the Acate river in Sicily by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus.

Agate is believed to discern truth, accept circumstances, and is a powerful emotional healer. Legend says that Agate improves memory and concentration, increases stamina and encourages honesty.

Amethyst

The Amethyst gemstone is a variety of crystalline quarts and comes in shades of violet, lilac or mauve. This stone received its name from the Greek word amethystos meaning “without drunkenness”. Amethyst was believed to help with sobriety and thus its name. Positive feelings and spiritual wisdom are also said to be the healing properties of the amethyst stone.

Jasper

Jasper is an opaque and fine grained variety of Chalcedony. It is found in all colors including: red, brown, pink, yellow, green, grey/white and shades of blue and purple.

It often contains organic material and mineral oxides which give it interesting patterns, bands and colors. Many of these patterns resemble landscapes with mountains and valleys.

Labradorite

The Labradorite stone was discovered in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. Besides Canada, this stone is also found in Norway. The gem is known to be a power stone allowing clear visualization when meditating.

Available in brilliant pastels and deep gold colors, this variety of feldspar produces some stunning gem-quality stones.

Onyx

Onyx is a variety of the silica mineral agate; its properties are the same as those of quartz. This stone comes in white, tan, brown, red and black.

Onyx is used as a heart, kidney, nerve, capillary, hair, eye and nail strengthener. Onyx is said to help one sleep.
